File Format for Printing:
The format of the print file should preferably be PDF. TIF, EPS, and other formats such as AI, high-quality .jpg will only be accepted after consultation with the graphic design department. PDF: PDF formats should be prepared in Acrobat 5 (1.4) version without web optimization. Save as PDF with editing capability, ideally in the Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 1267-2:2004) profile. Printing: CMYK, resolution for embedded images 300 dpi. Fonts must be converted to outlines before exporting to paths, images must be embedded (linked files are not accepted). TIF: Raster graphics should be exported in TIF format with LZW compression and separate layers (flattened representation). EPS: EPS Level 2Fonts must be converted to outlines before exporting to paths, images must be embedded (linked files are not accepted). No overprint should be present (exception: overprinted black). Whenever possible (e.g., for PDF files), please remove color management from the file. The file should not contain company logos, registration logos, etc.
Colours
Color Mode:
We print using the CMYK printing process. Color variations of +-10% are technically unavoidable. Due to the high risk of inaccurate printing with PANTONE and RGB, we recommend using the CMYK color mode. Please inform us if PANTONE color values are included in the file and keep in mind that not all PANTONE colors can be reproduced accurately. If precise color reproduction is essential, you can request us to create a proof in the form of a color sample or a press proof. Note that requesting a test print on the desired material is necessary (additional charges apply). This is the only way to determine the exact color and quality of a print. We do not assume liability for any color variations unless a color proof on the desired material has been requested.
Black:
To achieve a solid black in the final print, the following CMYK values should be used: C:60 / M:50 / Y:40 / K:100
Print Resolution
File Size:
Your print files require the correct resolution, which is 300 dpi at actual size 1:1, or at least 600 dpi at 1:10 scale. If data is created too large or too small and automatically scaled, this can lead to loss of quality. You can receive a professional data check from us upon request (additional charges may apply).
When creating print files, please adhere to the print file template provided for each product. The open final format, including bleed allowance, is usually specified there.
